Mother Nature

So we paid for my silly prescription that costs way to much money. But I have it and that is that. I am writing this in response to what happened today. My boys are recovering from strep throat and doing very well I might add. I was watching the situation unfold at Little Cottonwood Canyon. I say watching more like seeking out any info I could. They closed LCC last night at 9. They were anticipating to open at 8:30am. That time came and went and it moved on to 9:30. They opened and closed within an hour. There were more slides and they interlodged everyone. Which means get inside it is dangerous out there. You are not allowed to be on the snow you need to be in a building. EVERYONE. They did finally open the road back up but both resorts snowbird and alta are running a half ship. Only two lifts at Alta and the backside is closed at snowbird with only one run off the tram.

This is a reminder that mother nature is in control. DON'T piss her off. According to ch 13 there were three slides in lcc after patrol work and udot had done there avalanche work. Which means they shot it, it didn't move, they gave the all clear and it MOVED anyway. People come up and get mad that things aren't open. They think they are making cutbacks its a sign of the times too bad. I have to say NO I don't think so. They are doing everything they can to make you safe sometimes mother nature just has other ideas. Stay safe everyone. We are playing in her back yard not ours ask permission and have fun.

Insurance companies, ugh

It was interesting to read your take on health care. I would like to say I have no political party. I just want what I want. Let me tell you the story that I have gone through today and why I think we should have a change in our health care system.

Our prescription insurance was recently changed. Therefore I had to call the new company to get my old prescription transferred over. I was told that I had to pay before they would ship the new prescription (that I have been on for 1 year and 2 months) $875 for a 30 day supply. This same prescription one month ago cost me $50. This I should state is not just a one time thing I need this therapy every month. I of course balked and said hang on why is it so expensive now when it wasn't last month. I was told by the insurance company that my prescription is not on their preferred prescription list. I should change to one that is. The insurance professional had the gall to mention another prescription that was on there list maybe I should change and try it. I proceeded to fume in to my telephone stating to the insurance person who I am assuming is not a dr and should not be providing any medical knowledge to someone they are talking to on the phone..That I have already tried the other authorized therapy and it didn't Work for me. MY DR, prescribed this therapy that is working and I haven't had any relapses while on it. I still do not have my shots and only have 1 left of my current monthly dose.

My gripe is that the insurance companies have been able to get away with to much riga-ma-roll they are out for their pockets and if something is not done to check those companies... When you get sick you will have to be on the phone for at least 3 days trying to get insurance companies and Dr's to answer the phone calls that you need answered. Then you can get stuck in the endless voicemail loops because no one really wants to talk on the phone any more because they might have to do something. Or sell your house because that is the only way you are going to be able to pay for anything. Without insurance my Rebif is $2,200/month.

So I guess the end game is Don't get sick especially don't get 'need further treatment sick' that might make the insurance companies have to lose some of the money that you pay them so diligently every month.

he hee

So every once in awhile I get one of the crazy emails that I want to forward to the world but I have found it easier to do this. Thank You Mike Cook.

The Stars ** are next to the ones I agree with whole heartedly

1. I think part of a best friend's job should be to immediately clear your computer history if you die.

**2. Nothing sucks more than that moment during an argument when you realize you're wrong.

**3. I totally take back all those times I didn't want to nap when I was younger.

**4. There is great need for a sarcasm font.

5. How the hell are you supposed to fold a fitted sheet?

6. Was learning cursive really necessary?

**7. Map Quest really needs to start their directions on #5. I'm pretty sure I know how to get out of my neighborhood.

**8. Obituaries would be a lot more interesting if they told you how the person died.

9. I can't remember the last time I wasn't at least kind of tired.

**10. Bad decisions make good stories.

11. You never know when it will strike, but there comes a moment at work when you know that you just aren't going to do anything
productive for the rest of the day.

12. Can we all just agree to ignore whatever comes after Blue Ray? I don't want to have to restart my collection...again.

13. I'm always slightly terrified when I exit out of Word and it asks me if I want to save any changes to my ten-page research paper that I swear I did not make any changes to.

14. "Do not machine wash or tumble dry" means I will never wash this - ever - or wear it again.

**15. I hate when I just miss a call by the last ring (Hello? Hello? Damn it!), but when I immediately call back, it rings nine times and goes to voicemail. What'd you do after I didn't answer? Drop the phone and run away?

16. I hate leaving my house confident and looking good and then not seeing anyone of importance the entire day. What a waste.

17. I keep some people's phone numbers in my phone just so I know not to answer when they call.

**18. My 4-year old son asked me in the car the other day "Dad what would happen if you ran over a ninja?"
How the hell do I respond to that?

19. I think the freezer deserves a light as well.

20. I disagree with Kay Jewelers. I would bet on any given Friday or Saturday night more kisses begin with Miller Lite than Kay.

Have a fun day this made me smile.

fun fun fun

Good day good day.
We have been skiing and playing lately. I am getting nothing done in the house but oh well. Now If I could just get caught up with my promises I would feel better, but oh well.

Jake has decided to let me groom him and he is so funny about it. I think sleep is the opperative word. He just lays down and takes it. Such a good boy.

I will try to get some pictures up later but that means I have to put away the x-mas decorations I don't have the time. I want to ski at Snowbird tomorrow with Thomas. PRIORITIES.

We had so much fun with Pete and family it was a blast. Stayed down at Mom and Dads for two weeks it was heaven. My house is suffering but since I end up spending the summer inside because of the heat I can worry about it then. :> Sweep of the vacuum every once and while and put away the dishes we are good.
