more skiing

Well we went up as a whole family this time. We did one run too many but all and all it was a good time. Brady rode the Sunnyside lift and then the Cecret Lift 3 times. I was very proud. Here is a video daddy took.
Well this isn't the good video I will have to make it smaller. So here are some pictures of us at the top of Sunnyside and coming down Sweet and Easy from Cecret.

Proud Mommy

We were going over Thomas' homework this morning and he mentioned that the teacher was correcting the classes Math homework with his paper. She was holding his paper while everyone checked there own work. he was so proud and so is his Mumma.

On a funny note jake has learned to pee and poop on command. He goes outside and if we are in a hurry I tell him, "Jakey go Potty" and I will be damned if he does. Ah the little things make life so much nicer.

We have also gotten back on board with Flylady and it has been very nice to have a clean 1st floor. Babysteps I am still working on the upstairs.

We also had ski racing this week again. I moved up in the rankings. Thank god it was snowy since I hadn't sharpened my ski's. I came in 12 this week. Much better than the previous weeks 16th woohoo.

Mortality

So my son got a good sense or mortality this week. My father decided to have a testosterone race with my mothers cousin. Cousin just bought a new Porsche and dad has one at home in his garage. They of course were talking about them so dad was skiing way to fast to prove his car was faster??? I don't know I guess it is a guy thing.

It was icy on the run he was on. Instead of hitting the people on the side of the trail, he aimed for a tree. Well what he didn't know was behind said tree there was a drop off and then a cement patio and a bbq. Yes Dad ended up hitting all 3.

After a trip under his own power to the Alta Clinic they transferred him to Alta View Hospital who later transferred him to the IHC Trama Unit. Long story shorter he broke two bones on his C4 vertibrae in his neck. I will call them the fingers off the back of the bone. He is fine just very sore. Especially his lower back and hip. He has to wear a collar when he is in a car or walking around but other than that there is nothing he can do but be calm and not too active.

So the mortality lesson came to Thomas. When you hear "he broke his neck" It means dead to an 8 year old. Brady handled it very well a little shy until he realized grandpa could still talk and was relatively normal. Thomas was worried. I wanted to take him up skiing as soon as we could. He wanted to get his ski's sharpened and he didn't want to go on Supreme (where grandpa had the accident) So we went up for a leiserly day. The plan was to take pictures of the scene and show Tom that everything was ok and it was just an accident. We went to lunch and then he said his stomach hurt (nerves) so I said well lets just go up Supreme and then we will go home. Skied to the spot took a ton of pics and we were on our way. I talked to Tom and he realized that everything was fine and grandpa will be up skiing in 4 weeks.

What is so crazy is Dad came out to help me in case something happened and I couldn't finish out the season like last year. Apparently things weren't exciting enough and dad was feeling unwanted so he changed the game. :>

Spring in our neck of the woods

So we have spring the bulbs are popping out and they are so cute. Now I need to figure out how to keep the neighbors from trampling all of them. I am thinking a garden gnome fence around the little gardens. Maybe it will keep Jake out too. Hmm.

MS Walk

So the MS WALK is this April 11th.
Do you want to come and join our team "heidi's heroes"
Do you want to just donate? Hey we will take whichever works for you. :>
The Walk is in SLC at the Gateway the meet and mingle is at 8 and the walk starts at 10 I believe. There will also be a continental breakfast.
"Heidi's heroes" is getting some corporate sponsors so we will have prizes for those who earn the most money or who brings in the most participants for our Team. Hope to see you there. Any questions float me an email.

I do realize that others have causes that they participate in. Please I don't want you to feel obligated or bad if you like your hard earned money and time to go to another arena. This is just the cause that means something to me. Thanks.

Brayden got up on skis baby

So Brady finally got up on skis yesterday and I am so proud of him. He did a great job. M&M's of course help. We did 3 runs on the tow rope and then had lunch and did 3 runs on the magic carpet.

(We like the magic carpet much better, it had stuff to ride under) Reminded me of the 3 year old program we did at Alpental. What I wouldn't give for that program here. Hmm that gives me an idea.He was having so much fun it was a very proud moment for mommy. I love the snow falling off of his bum from his crash.
